Developments in Healthcare PPP in Portugal 22 January 2010 Offers delivered from two consortia for the Hospital PPP in Algarve are much higher than the state limit for building the facility. This high margin can be explained by the fact that these offers are preliminary once before the BAFO stage in which the state expects to get a lower price than the CPC (Comparable Public Cost) although financing costs still represent a great impact. The Algarve hospital with estimated costs around €250m 30-year DBFM concession shall dispose with 549 beds, 10 surgical rooms and 46 offices, and includes no clinical part. The hospital is scheduled to open in 2013. Source: European PPP Center
